Adventure Tactics - A Creative Writing Story

By Growing Writer, Marissa Rinkoff (Student, 5th grade)
I wonder what I’ll find here. Olette thought to herself as she went deeper into the dungeon. Suddenly she heard a screech coming from further in. She didn’t think twice, she immediately went towards the sound. “Screech!” There it was again, the sound. She turned the corner and found a hawk in a cage, and two goblins who were obviously terrifying the poor creature. Olette drew her bow and shot an arrow. It landed right on one of the goblin’s back. Then she shot another arrow and it landed right on the other goblin’s back.
“Stop terrifying that poor creature.” Olette said to the goblins.
“Uhh?” they asked as they turned to her.
“I said, stop terrifying the creature.” Olette said again.
“Why should we?” Says one of the goblins in a grumpy, cracking voice.
“Because you’re torturing that bird.” Olette said again in an annoyed voice. Just then a fireball flew through the air and landed right in the middle of the goblins and killed them. Olette looked around annoyed and saw a wizard standing where the fireball came from. “Who are you?” Olette asked grumpily and started to uncage the bird.
“I am Elwyn.” the wizard said. “And I have brought companions for you.”
“I don’t need companions! What are you talking about?!” Olette said, obviously very annoyed by now with all the goblins and new “companions” the wizard was talking about.
“You can’t just travel alone all by yourself.” Said an unfamiliar voice.
“Who said that?” Olette asked into the darkness.
“Me.” The voice said again and out stepped a girl who was maybe by the looks of it a soldier of some sort. She was a red-headed girl with a sword and shield with arrows in it. The next person that stepped out was another girl who was wearing a white dress and had brown hair. Then a person in black who was a little short, and was looking a little mean at first glance. The red-headed girl introduced all of the new people as Tolben the rouge, Quill the cleric, and Roberta was the soldier. What adventures will they find together no one knows, but we know one thing, they will have to work together to survive no matter what.
