Barnesville School alumni continue to make an impact in various fields, and one such alum, Nico Cravaritis, is back on campus, this time as an IT intern. Nico, a proud graduate of Barnesville and now a student at The Siena School, is leveraging his passion for technology to assist and gain experience at Barnesville.
A Memorable Experience at Barnesville
When asked about his time at Barnesville, Nico’s thoughts immediately drifted to his 8th grade field trip to Philadelphia. “It was my first overnight field trip, and it was both cool and fun,” Nico recalls. This trip, along with others, helped foster his love for exploration and learning beyond the classroom.
Beyond the trips, Nico speaks fondly of the teachers who had a lasting impact on him. “Mr. Krebs, Ms. Ash, Ms. Sheppard, Ms. Johnson, Mr. Hardman, and Ms. Gekas,” Nico lists with a smile. “They all helped shape the way I think and approach challenges.”
A Strong Foundation for High School
Reflecting on how his time at Barnesville prepared him for high school, Nico notes that it pushed him to stretch his limits, but never too far. “It was the right balance,” he explains. “Barnesville gave me the opportunity to grow academically while still offering the support I needed. It made transitioning into high school smoother.”
An IT Internship and Returning to Barnesville
Nico’s love for technology has always been present. “I’ve always been the go-to “tech guru” among my peers, whether helping teachers or classmates with tech-related issues,” says Nico. This natural ability for problem-solving is what led him to pursue an internship in Information Technology.
Now back at Barnesville as part of his internship, Nico is eager to contribute his skills n a professional setting. “I’ve always enjoyed helping others with tech challenges, and I wanted to help here at Barnesville, a place that helped develop my passions,” Nico explains. His return to Barnesville was the perfect way to ease into the process. “Being back here feels comfortable,” he says. “I’m surrounded by friends, and I’m working in an environment I know well. It’s a great way to get started.”
Looking Forward
As Nico continues, he’s excited about what the future holds. His love for technology and his ability to trouble-shoot and problem solve makes him a valuable asset to any team, and his journey back to Barnesville School of Arts & Sciences is just one chapter in a successful career.
Outside of tech and school, Nico enjoys unwinding with his favorite hobby: playing video games! A fitting hobby for someone so immersed in the world of technology!
Barnesville School of Arts & Sciences is proud to have Nico Cravaritis return as an intern, and we look forward to seeing how his story continues to grow. His journey is a testament to the lasting impact a Barnesville education can have, and we are forever supporting him.
