The Invention of the Telephone

Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone in 1876 on March 7.

Alexander gets all the credit, but Charles Bourseul was a French telegraph engineer who proposed the first design of a telephone.

The telephone helped people communicate with other people who were far away. Letters took much longer to be delivered while telephone calls could contact people in minutes. The First words ever spoken were “Mr. Watson, come here. I want to see you.”

Without the invention of the telephone, iPhones and iPads would have taken many more years to be invented. Letters would still be being used a lot and no one would really be using telephones and things would take a lot longer to be transported. That is why telephones are very important.
