8th Grade Science Fair

Kay'La Portee
The Barnesville Science Fair was a highlight of the year, as 8th grade students proudly showcased months or hard work. Since mid-September, students have been conducting experiments, testing hypotheses, and collecting data bring their projects to life. Showcasing their findings for other grades, staff and faculty to see, many crowded around each project questioning the 8th grader's process and results.

Projects ranged from environmental studies, engineering challenges, renewable energy studies, chemical reactions, bacteria growth, and more! The projects reflected the students' creativity, critical thinking, and dedication. Younger students enjoyed learning from the presentations, which inspired curiosity for the scientific process. Their efforts not only demonstrated a strong grasp of the scientific method but also inspired others to explore their own interests in science.

This years winners were:
  • 1st Place: Kaitlin ( "Dog Breath Bacteria")
  • 2nd Place: Justin ( "Can We Grow Plants Without Soil?") , John ( "What Country Can Have the Most Artifacts Over the Span of the Science Fair?")
  • 3rd Place: Liam ( "Hello Pixels Paper?")
Congratulations to all participants for their dedication and creativity, and a special thanks to Ms. Ash (Science Teacher), judges, faculty and staff who supported the students throughout this scientific journey! The Science Fair was a brilliant celebration of learning and discovery at Barnesville!
